Hobby Lobby's hearing 'an even greater milestone' in abortion-pill challenge
Kyle Duncan, general counsel for The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty and legal representative for Hobby Lobby Stores, will go before a federal judge Friday, July 19, to ask for a preliminary injunction in the arts-and-crafts chain's abortion-pill mandate case.

Last month, a federal appeals court reversed a lower-court ruling that had rejected Hobby Lobby's request to temporarily stop enforcement of the contraceptive requirement. The Denver-based 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling sent the case back to the U.S. Read more
'Bibleman' app to 'expand brand awareness, drive sales'
B&H Kids, a division of B&H Publishing Group, has began offering a free complete episode from the "Bibleman" DVD series through a new app for tablet and smartphone devices.

GRAMMY-nominated artist Matthew West will perform on Katie Couric's ABC talk show, Katie, Thursday, July 18. West will also discuss his new gift book, releasing July 23 from Thomas Nelson.

Forgiveness tells stories of lives changed through acts of forgiveness. For West's latest album, Into The Light (Sparrow Records/Capitol Christian Distribution), he asked fans to share their stories.
Responding to demand, Howard Books will have a first printing of more than 750,000 copies of Si Robertson's Si-cology 1: Tales & Wisdom from Duck Dynasty's Favorite Uncle.

The third title from Howard Books by cast members of A&E TV's popular reality show Duck Dynasty is also now scheduled to release Sept. 3, moving up from October. 
Duck Dynasty features the Robertson family, who transformed their duck-call business into a multimillion-dollar empire.

E-books decline while paperback sales increase for religious publishers
Halting a trend, faith-based publishers reported a 0. 6% decrease during the first quarter of 2013 in religious e-book sales compared to the January-March period last year, according to the latest figures available from the Association of American Publishers (AAP).
Colt McCoy's The Real Win: A Man's Quest for Authentic Success (Multnomah Books) was ranked No. 2 on the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) General best-sellers list for the week ending June 28, according to Pubtrack Christian data. Written with Matt Carter, the hardcover book was released May 7. The rest of the top 20 ECPA General best-sellers were: 1. Jesus Calling, Sarah Young, hardcover (Thomas Nelson); 3. Not a Fan, Kyle Idleman (Zondervan);

'The Lord's extraordinary provision' helps flood-affected Crossway
Crossway has seen "the Lord's extraordinary provision" after issuing an appeal for financial support in the wake of the company's flood damage in the spring.

“It has been humbling indeed to see the Lord’s extraordinary provision,” Lane Dennis, president of Crossway, wrote to supporters on the company’s website.  
Evangelist and author Ray Comfort's new movie, which he says, "completely debunks evolution within its first 16 minutes," will be released on DVD to stores Aug. 7.

Retailing for $4.99, Evolution vs. God will be made available to Christian retailers through Send The Light Distribution. A preview of the 38-minute documentary has been downloaded more than 6,000 times in one week.

Zondervan, Christian comics group to showcase faith-based comics at Comic-Con
Zondervan and Christian Comic Arts Society (CCAS) have partnered to host three events and exhibit at the San Diego Comic-Con International 2013, which runs July 18-21 in San Diego.
NavPress is spotlighting a new book inspired by the Activist Faith movement. Released July 15, Activist Faith, written by pastor Dan King, professor Dillon Burroughs and media director Daniel Darling, looks at 12 divisive social issues Christians can't ignore, including environmentalism, immigration, abortion and human trafficking.  

The authors have been involved in the Activist Faith movement since it began on in November 2012.
